ONE FOR THE ROAD – The Life & Lyrics of Simon Fowler & Ocean Colour Scene

• Hard back book signed by Simon and Daniel Rachel
• Limited edition 7” record hand stamped and numbered (500 copies)

The new limited edition, fully illustrated hardback coffee table book by Simon Fowler. Collaborating with his lifelong friend, award-winning author, Daniel Rachel, One For The Road is presented as an extended conversation featuring 69 personally hand-selected songs by Simon, including never seen before original handwritten lyrics, 13 unreleased songs, and over 350 hand chosen photographs and rarely seen items of memorabilia. With introductions by both Oscar Harrison and Steve Cradock, of Ocean Colour Scene, this new stunning book offers a unique and illuminating visual record of one of the great songwriters.

The ‘Big Star’ package comes with a 288 full colour page book printed on high quality stock with a sewn hard back cover and wraparound dust jacket and a strictly limited edition seven inch single hand stamped, numbered and pressed for One For The Road. The two songs on the record – ‘The American Way Of Life’ and ‘I’ were only recently discovered and were recorded by Simon into a portable cassette recorder in 1986. They offer a rare glimpse into Simon’s voice and songwriting when he was only twenty-one years old. Of special note is the track ‘I’ which was later re-written as ‘Foxy’s Folk Faced’ and featured on Ocean Colour Scene’s number one album Marchin’ Already. Only 500 copiesof this highly rare recording will be pressed to vinyl.
